Your brain controls all the functioning of the body. So it is imperative that you need to win this constant battle in your mind in order to be healthy. In this article we talk to you about Winning The Battle Of The Mind.

Winning The Battle Of The Mind

Try to have a normal mind without being overtly emotional

In our natural self, we are more accustomed to look at our current circumstances. In such situations, it is very likely that we will get carried away by our emotions and make decisions which may not be good and constructive. A mind which is too busy with many thoughts and emotions is abnormal whereas a mind that is at rest and at peace is healthy.

A calm and serene mind leads to a healthy body. A good way to start your day is by meditation. In my case meditation on Biblical verses always gives me a sense of hope and encouragement. My day is always better when I spend time in solitude and prayer.

Always write down things which concern you

Most of the time we are so burdened with anxious thoughts and worries. It is good to write down everything that is worrying you. Once you have it in front of you, you will find it easy to think clearly and deal with the problems. Research has indicated that when people write down their problems, they feel relieved to deal with only those issues. A clear and focussed mind will help you take correct decisions to face your problems. Over a period of time, you big problems will not look big enough to make you anxious.

Avoid having a wandering mind

It is important to concentrate and focus on things in order to avoid a wandering mind. Many people have spent years allowing their minds to wander because they have never applied the principles of discipline to their thought life. When you are unable to concentrate, then you do whatever you want to do and whenever you want to do it.

Lack of concentration can also be a symptom of vitamin deficiency. Certain B vitamins enhance concentration levels. Eating a right and balanced nutritious meal also helps to increase your concentration level.

Concentration and comprehension go hand in hand. Most of the time people read and scan words through their eyes but their minds really do not understand the words that are read.

It is important to discipline your mind by focussing and staying attentive. There are various memory foods and reading materials which can help you to concentrate.

One of the most difficult things to avoid is a wandering mind. Proper discipline can help you overcome this problem. For e.g., if you are in the middle of an important conversation and your mind wanders off, get back into the conversation by asking questions etc. An alert mind will help you take correct decisions.

Avoid a state of confusion

Many people are confused today. Confusion is a result of too much reasoning. Reasoning occurs when a person tries to figure out the “why” behind the decision. Reasoning causes the mind to revolve around the situation or the issue. In other words, we are trying to understand the intricate component parts and in doing so, we get more confused. A confused mind avoids taking firm and right decisions which in turn results in fear and anxiety.

Most of the time, people who are successful have admitted that they have taken decisions on their intuitive feeling. They had gone by their instinct and taken the decision which has led to their success. For e.g., when you have too many choices in a restaurant, you take more time thinking and overthinking, before ordering your meal. But in case of limited choices, you are quick to order your food and relish it too.

Trust God and not human abilities

Trusting God is one of the most important abilities that results in peace of mind. God always gives us an understanding of our situation. We are able to discern what is right and wrong. It is only because the right thing is difficult to follow that we try to compromise and find a way around in order to be comfortable.

Remember, when you do not listen to the soft voice of your conscience then there is no peace in your heart. That restlessness and disobedience will lead to a wrong decision, which will not work out for you.

Trusting God in all your things will make you be more at rest and there will be more fruitfulness in your life.

Avoid a doubtful and unbelieving mind

Doubt and unbelief are two important reasons behind stress. Doubt causes a person to waver and have two different opinions, leading to confusion. It important to know that God has put His faith and hope in each one of us and so we need to be positive and keep our hopes alive, always. Doubt comes in the form of thoughts which leads to stress and anxiety. For e.g. if we have received a negative report from your doctor, then it is time to stand in faith in God. If you keep yourself positive and do not pay attention to all the negative things or circumstances around you, you will soon see the manifestation of this positive outlook. It will give you good health and peace of mind.

God Bless.
