Sedentary Lifestyle.

Today, most of us work in the office for almost 12 hours or more and hardly ever move out from our places. We are so busy completing our job assignments that we rarely get up, move out or do some stretch-up exercises. This leads to back problems, neck stiffness, headaches, obesity, inactivity and fatigue etc.

It is important to move your body regularly to keep it flexible and healthy. Regular exercise can help to keep you fit and energetic. Exercise helps in boosting your stamina and refreshing your mood levels also. A good exercise regime also makes the body tired, which in turn helps in getting good sleep.

Some of the easy things that you can do in the office are:

  1. Move around and take short breaks by walking around.
  2. Do some of the jobs while standing up instead of continuously sitting.
  3. Take stretch breaks by stretching your legs and body.
  4. Take the stairs instead of elevators.
  5. Try walking short distances rather than taking the car.

Wrong Food Habits.

Carbohydrates are one of the quick sources of energy. Your body breaks down the sugar which is then used for producing energy. Remember eating foods that are rich in carbohydrates can also make you feel tired.

When too much of refined foods or sugary foods are consumed it causes an increase in blood sugar, which in turn puts more pressure on the pancreas to produce more insulin. The rise and fall in the sugar level can make you feel tired and exhausted. Also, avoid eating oily and fatty foods.

Try eating healthy foods like fruits, vegetables, whole foods, legumes etc. Consuming lesser amount of calories can also lead to exhaustion. When you eat less, your body tends to conserve energy by slowing down the body metabolism and this can lead to fatigue. On an average, the body needs around 1200 calories to prevent any breakdown.Foods like soya, eggs, corn and any other foods that you are sensitive to, can also cause fatigue.

Sleeping in the daytime.

Many people work in shifts, wherein they have to work at night. In view of the same, they catch up on their sleep during the daytime. Remember this is against your body clock. Our body changes in response to light and darkness. Night time is the most appropriate time to sleep. Many people who work against the body clock develop sleep disorders and fatigue. Try to sleep at night, which is natural for the body.

High-Stress levels.

High-stress levels are one of the most important reasons for fatigue and tiredness. Everyone has to live with some amount of stress in our day to day lives, but excess stress leads to fatigue. Consciously practice a stress-free living lifestyle. Lead a healthy lifestyle by exercising, eating the right foods, spending time in prayer, meditating on God’s word and spending quality time with your loved ones i.e. your family.

Hydrate your body properly.

It is important to drink plenty of water and keep your body hydrated. If your body is properly hydrated, then the energy levels are at its best. Ensure that you continuously replenish the lost fluids by drinking plenty of water, by having water-rich fruits and vegetables etc.

Avoid drinking energy drinks, caffeine, tea and other sugary drinks. Though temporarily these liquids may provide respite, in the long run, it will lead to fatigue.
