Ingredients for Sponge Cake
All purpose flour (maida) I cup
Sugar 1/2 cup
Vanilla essence 1 teaspoon
Butter 100 gms
Some nuts or cherries
1 Preheat the oven to 180°C. Apply some butter and grease the cake tin.
2 Beat the eggs together, and add sugar and vanilla essence till light and creamy.
3 Gradually pour the flour and slowly use the spoon to fold and mix , stirring with a light hand only in one direction.
4 Add the remaining melted butter.
5 Pour the batter into the prepared tin and
Bake it for 20 to 25 minutes, till well risen and completely done. You can check by putting a knife in the cake. It should come out completely clean.
6. Remove and leave to cool completely.
Your sponge cake is ready to eat.
