It is the dream of every woman to have a natural glowing skin. Today, we have a lot of expensive skin creams and face packs which claim of doing wonders to your skin.
Today, let us look at some of the natural homemade face packs for our skin, which have been passed down from generation to generation.
1) Oily Skin
a) Masoor Dal pack
Ingredients:
Masoor dal (Lentil) – 50gms
Turmeric – 5gms
Neem powder – 5gms
Triphala- 5gms
Arjuna bark – 10gms
Shirsh – 5gms
Method:
Mix all the ingredients and store it in a dry container. For use, make a paste of this powder by mixing rosewater (for normal skin) or (plain water) for oily skin or milk (for dry skin). Apply this paste on your face, leave it for 20-25 minutes and then wash your face with lukewarm water.
b) Egg pack
Ingredients:
1 egg
2 drops of peppermint extract
½ tbsp fuller’s earth
5-6 drops of rose water
Method:
Soak the fuller’s earth in a little water for around half hour and add peppermint and rosewater to it. Mix it well and then add whisked egg white. Apply the pack on your face and then leave it to dry for around half an hour. Rinse it off with lukewarm water.
c) Neem face pack
Ingredients:
10-15 Neem leaves
4-5 tbsp of rose water
Milk
Method:
Mix all the dried and powdered neem leaves with milk and rosewater, to make a paste. Apply it on your face and leave it for some time. Wash your face with lukewarm water and you will have a blemish free skin.
2) Normal Skin
a) Lettuce Face pack
Ingredients:
2 lettuce leaves
Lemon juice
Olive oil
Milk
Method:
Dip lettuce leaves in olive oil. Add some lemon juice in it. Place these leaves on both sides of your face and cover your face with a towel dipped in cold water. After around 15 minutes, wipe your face with a cotton ball soaked in milk. Then rinse your face with lukewarm water.
b) Apple face pack
Ingredients:
½ Apple peeled and sliced
2 tbsp oil
Vinegar
1 egg yolk
1tbsp honey
Method:
Mix all the ingredients and blend to make a paste. Apply it on your face and leave it for around 5-7 minutes. Once the pack dries up, wash the skin with lukewarm water.
c) Sandalwood face pack
Ingredients:
Fuller’s earth (Multani mitti): 50gms
Sandalwood powder: 5gms
Turmeric powder: 5gms
Jesthi madh: 5gms
Method:
Mix the powders and store it in air tight containers. While using it, prepare a paste by either mixing it with rosewater or milk. Apply the paste on your face and leave it to dry for around 20-25 minutes. Wash your face with lukewarm water.
3) Dry Skin
a) Almond face pack.
Ingredients:
Around 8-10 almonds
2tsb oatmeal
½ lemon juice
5 tbsp full cream milk
1 mashed avocado.
2 tbsp of china clay (This acts as a mild exfoliating agent that helps to get rid of skin impurities).
Method:
Make a mixture of all the ingredients. Once you have the right consistency, apply it on the face and leave it on for about 20 minutes. Wipe it with a cotton ball soaked in cold milk and then wash your face with cold water.
b) Banana face pack
Ingredients:
2 ripe bananas
Honey
Method :
Mash the bananas, add honey to it and make it into a soft pulp. You can apply it on your face, neck, hands and feet. You can even apply it on your hair to get a smooth effect.
c) Tomato face pack.
Ingredients:
Tomato pulp
Lemon juice
Method:
Take some tomato pulp and mix lemon juice to it. Apply the mixture on the face and neck. Keep it on for some time and then wash it off with lukewarm water.
