Basil

Basil is rich in antioxidants, anti-bacterial and antiseptic properties. It also has nutrients like calcium, iron, vitamins etc.

It is used to treat flatulence, lack of appetite, gas, nausea, and coughs etc. All you need is to sow basil seeds in a pot and keep it in a warm and sunny place.

 Adulsa

Adulsa is the main ingredient of many Ayurvedic cough syrups. It is rich in phytochemicals. It helps in relieving bronchial infections, piles problems and excessive bleeding in periods.

You can boil 3-4 leaves of Adulsa in a little water and drink this juice. Sow some Adulsa seeds in a pot and keep it under direct sunlight. Also, it does not need regular watering or maintenance, it grows on its own.

Parsley

Parsley is one of the herbs that you can use for almost any dish. It is normally grown in wet and damp soil. It needs shade and not direct sunlight (as the soil needs to be damp). This plant can be grown in your backyard or garden.

It is high in antioxidants, folic acid, and flavonoids. It is very helpful in treating gas, colic, coughs, constipation and high blood pressure. Just chewing parsley is also very good since it is a good breath freshener.

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is another plant which has huge benefits. It is high in antibacterial properties. It is used to cure wounds, burns, smooth bowel movements, skin conditions, as a hair softener, has anti-aging properties etc.

You can eat the gel (not more than 15ml) or apply it on the skin and hair. People suffering from high blood pressure and piles and also pregnant women, should not consume Aloe Vera as it might lead to hemorrhage. This plant needs a lot of sunlight and not much watering.

Rosemary

Rosemary can be grown easily as it needs direct sunlight. It is high in anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic properties. It is high in iron and calcium.

Research has indicated that Rosemary is effectively used for cold, headaches, dandruff, indigestion and premature baldness.

Dill

Dill is a pleasing aromatic herb which adds beauty and smell to your garden. You can grow it in large pots, in well-drained soil. It needs direct sunlight and proper watering. Also, it is high in vitamin A, fiber, iron and calcium. It is predominantly used to treat gas, diarrhea, urinary tract disorders, cold and helps in getting better sleep and also in building immunity.

Oregano

Oregano is used in most of the Mediterranean dishes because it adds flavor and aroma to the dish. It can grow in big containers or raised beds in the garden. Further, it needs direct sunlight and proper watering.

It is high in antimicrobial, carminative and antibacterial properties. Further, it is a rich source of vitamins A, iron, fiber, zinc and calcium.It is mostly used to treat the common cold, toothaches, bloating, menstrual cramps, vomiting etc.

Ginger

It is loaded with anti-inflammatory properties that reduce muscle pain and chronic indigestion.

Turmeric

Turmeric is loaded with anti-carcinogenic and anti-inflammatory properties. It is used to improve digestion, treat coughs and even heal wounds.

Rose

Though the rose is mainly used as a decorative plant, it has good anti-inflammatory and healing properties. Rose petals are used in beauty face packs. Regular eating of a couple of rose petals is good for health.

Wheat grass

Wheat grass is a concentrated source of nutrients like vitamin A, C, iron, calcium and amino acids. It can be used to boost immunity and ease bowel movements.

Touch me not plant

It is a sensitive plant that closes when you touch it.  Also, it has good cooling properties and is effective in piles. It needs direct sunlight and also needs to be watered regularly.
